The Costa del Sol, or Sunshine Coast, is a peri-urban region in southeastern Queensland, Australia. It is the district defined in 1967 as the area contained in the counties of Landsborough, Maroochy and Noosa, but excluding Bribie Island. Located 100 km (62 miles) north of downtown Brisbane, in southeastern Queensland, on the Coral Sea coast, its urban area encompasses approximately 60 km (37 miles) of coastline and inland from Pelican Waters to Tewantin. Maroochydore is one of the Sunshine Coast's main business centers, offering a refreshing combination of business and tourism.
It is home to a variety of small boutiques and fabulous restaurants, as well as some of the largest shopping centers on the Sunshine Coast.
