Welcome to Sunshine Coast Airport

Sunshine Coast Airport is the gateway to some of the most beautiful vacation destinations in Australia. Located in Queensland, this airport serves the Sunshine Coast region and provides daily direct flights to Sydney and Melbourne, as well as frequent connecting flights to domestic and international ports. The current location of the airport was granted to the Shire of Maroochy in 1958 for general aviation purposes. The airport has since been modernized with a terminal building and the runway was extended to 1,797 m in 1983 to accommodate larger aircraft.

The airport's general manager, Peter Pallot, recently announced that the name of the airport will be officially recognized as Sunshine Coast. Sunshine Coast Airport is a great transportation option for those looking to explore the area's many resorts. It also provides a shuttle service operated by SunAir, which transports passengers to and from their point of origin in the city. The airport respectfully recognizes the traditional owners and custodians of this land, the people of the Kabi First Nation.

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council and Sunshine Coast Airport welcome this news and are proud to be an asset throughout the Sunshine Coast region.
