Which is Better to Live: Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast?

While the Costa Dorada is known for its lively social life and nightlife, the Costa del Sol is characterized by a relaxed and carefree lifestyle. Both regions are largely driven by tourism, which adds an omnipresent holiday feeling to life along both coasts. Sunshine Coast residents tend to live in suburban areas, which are often less commercialized than those on the Gold Coast. While the former offers more nightlife and entertainment, the latter has a more relaxed atmosphere.

The suburbs are not as commercialized as Gold Coast, and visitors can easily switch from one activity to another. Despite this, Sunshine Coast is also less commercialized than Gold Coast. The number of attractions is not that big, but they are much more fun. While the Sunshine Coast are ethical hand-woven, fair trade and fair trade hemp sandals, the Gold Coast are dazzling flip flops with platform and wedge.

Sunshine Coast rises at dawn to greet the sun and drink hot water and lemon, while Gold Coast continues to clean her mask and go to bed. As a local of the Sunshine Coast, I'm biased but I love it here because it has a perfect balance between urban areas and incredible beach spots. So, on a general level, it really depends on what you're looking for. If you're just looking for employment opportunities, lots of events and great public transport, Brisbane is the obvious choice.

If you are looking for a place that has beautiful beaches but at the same time has an urban atmosphere, Gold Coast is for you. And if you are looking for a quieter and less developed area, but that still has the shopping centers, schools, hospitals and other facilities of a larger city, Sunshine Coast is excellent. Gold Coast is a young and modern party area and probably a little seedy, but it has normal suburbs and a small capital - Brisbane - which is rather boring if you ask me. But you can live there and do all the normal things.

It has crappy beaches - there are no beaches really - more marshes; you go to Goldy or Sunshine Coast for beaches. You just go on vacation outside of here to remind you of the good things - what is it? As close to paradise as you can be in my opinion. Elsewhere on the Sunshine Coast, there are opportunities for small-scale shopping in a variety of strips, game rooms and smaller malls; areas such as Caloundra's main street have a variety of small and pretty stores where you can buy bags, shoes, dresses and other items. A final potential draw for visitors to the Sunshine Coast who have moderately extended stays is the imminent opportunity to take a trip to the spectacular Fraser Island.

Rail routes also connect the main centers of the Sunshine Coast and the south with Brisbane, and most bus and train connections are sufficient to minimize waiting times. Although relying on public transportation during the holidays is not exactly ideal, Sunshine Coast at least makes the option much less complicated than its southern sister; although renting a car is still recommended since there are too many natural attractions off the main road to visit without private transportation in a reasonable time. The Costa Dorada is hot and sunny with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius in summer and 10 degrees during winter; it's also the preferred neighborhood by default if you're looking for a night that lasts until 3 in the morning as most establishments on the Sunshine Coast close at midnight.
